HOW TO TRULY HELP PEOPLE AND THE TRUE HELP YOU NEED

I have been in need many times myself and severally have I looked up to someone to help me. Due to unemployment or lack of sources of income, many of the young people allover the world are stuck in positions that unless someone comes for their rescue, they are not going to live another day.

In Mombasa, all along the streets are scores of young children some as young as 12yrs and below begging for money from passersby. I see it on TV all the time, cases of people seeking to find the attention of well wishers to come to their aid and assist or support their cause. We visited a number of children homes last year and all of them depend on visitors, donors & the government to survive. This also goes all the way down to our own homes where we have siblings and relatives who depend on us directly or indirectly.

This shows that people need someone to assist them but don’t you know that problems never

end. You buy me food today; I will still need food tomorrow. You pay my bills today; I will still need you to pay them tomorrow.

I know you really want to help out. I know you really need help as well but we cannot truly eradicate poverty or lessen the burdens on our shoulders and on those of our beloved ones if we keep giving or asking for “fish”. The saying goes, don’t give someone fish, instead teach them how to fish. Since when tomorrow comes they will go fish on their own.

When you need help; Desire to find ways through which you can get means to be able to make your own way out of that help you got. Ask for help to set up a business to sustain you for a longer time rather than asking for handouts all the time.

Don't just feed them, teach them how to fish

When you want to help someone; instead of giving them tips and allowances, desire to go a little deeper and help them start something that can give them income even without you. It is expensive a bit but it will be better to sort them once but help them in the long run. End results, you don’t have to hear knocks on the door all the time coming to beg.

I think we should set up shops and other income generating activities in our children homes, instead of

depending on donor funds. We should teach our brothers and sisters how they can make their own money and they will not come to you all the time or suffer when you are not their.

DON’T GIVE THEM FISH; TEACH THEM HOW TO FISH AND DON’T ASK FOR FISH; ASK TO BE TAUGHT HOW TO FISH.

A few months after the famous Napenda song in which she incorporated a Kenyan songbird Geraldine Oduor, the lovely Tanzanian gospel singer Christina Shusho has done it yet again. Another quality piece of music and yes, she never failed to impress, a song that will surely get you glued to the screen at least until the song is over. The powerful vocals backed by a great combination of instruments flowing in the beautiful mix of Afro music and Rhumba gives the song a great start and an amazing continuation til the last second. The smartly dressed ladies [as seen on the video] start the song in a poetry style where they lead lines in turns and match up their amazing vocals at the chorus which says that it is my season to be blessed and my time to receive.

The location for the video shooting was well chosen and director J. Blessing didn't disappoint. it is an amazing video. Christina Shusho has continued being a blessing in East Africa and to the world at large with her music. Many have learnt to love her style and we are happy that every time she releases yet another one, it is better than the former. From glory to glory. Making it through tough times against all odds

Hard times will always come, but they don't last

The story of Blind Bartimaeus in the bible [Mark 10:46-52] speaks of a man who went to the top of his voice to claim what was rightfully his. Despite having been in that condition for a very long while, deep down inside he had a desire to change the situation. He heard of what Jesus
had been doing all over healing other people, he knew that if it happened to others, then it can happen to him as well. 

I have a feeling he kept looking forward to the day that Jesus would visit his town. Now one day, he heard that Jesus was in town and as he passed by, Bartimaeus never took chances, he shouted at the top of his voice calling Jesus to have mercy on him. 

Many people tried to shut him up and shut him down but he couldn't give in to discouragement from others. He knew what he wanted, he never let the opportunity to pass him by and he couldn't give up despite of all the opposition. Soon Jesus heard his cry and the rest is history; He received his sight.

To make it through the tough times;

   1. Know what you want

   2. Have your dreams & expectations [God will meet you at the level of your expectation]

   3. When you have the chance don't let the opportunity pass you by, go for it.

   4. Don't quit despite all the challenges and opposition that will arise against your destiny.

DISCOVER YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE NOW

Living one's own purpose is a dream or goal that almost everyone wants to achieve. Many times we believe that if we knew our purpose we would have peace and live a more rewarding life. That being true, it is indeed unfortunate if you will walk through this life and never leave behind a mark of your existence.

I have seen so many volumes of books that teach on how to discover your purpose but i would like to share TWO pointers to help you bring your search of your purpose to an end.
1. Passion
2. Problem

Beware that you are here on earth to bring a solution which no one else could and fill a gap that no one else would.
1. Passion
The first way is to discover your passion. This are the things or that one thing that really makes you tickle. Not your fantasy dreams of
being a superstar but the little things that you have done before that left you fulfilled. Many a times, you have gone through them or planned to and it was such a fulfilling feeling. You felt more responsible, more in charge and more at peace. This is that one thing that you will do even if no one paid you. It is that thing that you will get out of your way to do it and you will be happy that you did it even if no one appreciated you.

2. Problem
The second way to discover your purpose is by finding out what you have a problem with. In many cases, we were meant to bring solutions in the world around us and there is something in particular that when you see it, it is not perfectly done. When you hear it, it is not perfectly said, when you feel it, it is not perfectly done. This is a sure indicator that you are the solution. Problems are an opportunity for us to bring a solution. If you find a way to fix the problem you see, you will be on the path to discover your purpose. More so if the process of solving the problem or fixing it gives you peace, then that is your turning point. When you see something not right, don't complain and blame others, take it as an opportunity to live your purpose.

Therefore get down, start writing the things you are passionate about and those you see problems in. Take your time don't be in a hurry. Your purpose is the most important achievement you will attain in your life. Keep creating your list and this can take several days but soon you will write down something that will make you tickle or even shade tears. Nobody will tell you to start, nobody will tell you when but you will find the energy and motive to take that journey of fulfillment even if nobody wants to walk with you. Don't forget, your purpose will make way for your provision. Choose to live your life to the fullest. Start now since life is short and nobody knows tomorrow.
