Breaking the Wall between You and Your Breakthrough

How many of us have dreams and goals that we would love to see come to pass? How many have submitted CV’s all over town and still no calls coming through? How many have been saving money diligently hoping that someday you will be able to raise the deposit for your mortgage or capital to start your dream business? Whether you are in one of these situations or not, the truth is that you are or will get to a point where you are out of options. Don't you ever think that for those you see shining out there, it has been a smooth ride all the way, they all had to make a choice at some point.

After finishing her studies in LAW abroad and coming back home (Kenya), Julie Gichuru found herself living with her grandmother after her parents had problems within
themselves. Her grandmother was surviving on a small pension that the grandfather had left behind and though it was manageable, it was still not enough to sustain them. She had all her papers and had performed very well in university but at this point she was jobless.  There was even this day when there was no food in the house at all and she kept praying and wondering how she could find some means just to get vegetables for supper.

Humble beginnings won't stop you from the best
Through prayer and trusting God, some one close to the family paid them a visit from nowhere unexpectedly and to her surprise, she came carrying everything that she was trusting God for that evening’s meal. That shows truly that God does answer prayers and if you put your trust in him he won’t disappoint you. But still there was tomorrow and the days after. For a young Christian, it is important to understand that, as much as it is good to trust in the Lord for providence, you should be ready to take steps to change your life. Don’t wait to be pushed to the corner.

After that day, one morning she decides that if I don’t do anything we are going to have it rough here, it is time to act. That is when she said to herself after hearing that there was a vacancy at KTN – a local TV station, she said to herself; even though I don’t have papers in Media or Journalism, I am going to take my chances. I can talk; I am a lawyer, I can read and I deserve that Job. She walked into the KTN station without applying and to cut the long story short, she got her job which opened her up to the media industry and the rest was history. Julie is now one of the most respected and reputable Journalist in Africa.

Julie now works with Royal Media which owns Citizen TV
The wall won’t break by itself until you take a leap of faith against it. Conditions don’t have to be perfect; just take the risk. If you have to start from the bottom up, go ahead and do it. If you have to step into a new territory, step in and do it. God backs you up when you step out in this kind of faith.  In 1Samuel 14:6 Jonathan told the young man who bore his armor, “come and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised: it may be that the Lord will work for us: for there is no restraint on the Lord to save by many or by few.”

Go out with the little that you have and God will take care of the rest.
