This will make you go Oooh!!! Caroline Mutoko's Letter to her Daughter on her Birthday!!

Dear Nduku,
I remember it, like it was 5am this
morning, when I took your Aunty
Njoki on an escapade that would see me meet the person who would
change my life for the better,
forever. You. Every day with you (not just on your birthday) is a celebration of the day your big eyes looked into mine and pulled my arms and heart to you.
Every moment with you is magical, a blessing and a wonder, even through the tears and tantrums.
Today as you turn four, memories
flood my mind as I think about your first steps, the humming you do when you’re loving your food, your first word and the fact that to this day Aunty Gladys, Miss Zahra, Mrs Ali at school and I are praying you will learn to walk — because all you do my darling is run.
Everyday, in awe and absolute glee, I notice that you are growing and learning more and more. Now you’re favourite phrase is “how about Mummy, how about...”
Gone are the days I held my breathe as you went down the slide. Now I watch you ride or swim and wish for the slide. As I watch you pick your outfits and shoes and tell Mwema how you want your hair done, a part of
me smiles and another screams,
noooo, slow down — I want to enjoy the baby you. You are becoming a young lady, and I couldn’t be more proud of you.
Too soon you’ll be on to bigger
things, Disney characters won’t
intrigue you and I won’t be able to be your constant companion. You’ll have your own little life, plans and friends. I wasn’t ready for you to leave your crib (big as it is until Christmas) but you were ahead of me — you’ve always been — and settled into your “big girl’ bed without missing a beat.
For now, I want to focus on today
and celebrating how much joy and
pride you fill me with because God
chose me to be your Mummy! You are truly a special gift from God. You are a joy and delight to be around. Your lovely eyes, your big smile, your constant chatter, your joy and wonder at the world has stopped strangers in their tracks many times as you and I go about our business. I have learnt with great difficulty to allow people to say hello - they are
drawn to you because you produce a blessing of joy for everyone you
encounter.
As your teachers at MLC have always said — Your tender heart is so full of love and care for those around you, it’s hard not to love you and feel loved by you. I can’t wait to see who you become as your grow into who God destined you to be! I will not rush it, but I cannot wait to see
and know the young lady you will be.
You are a fabulous daughter, a
fantastic sister to Richard, and a
real source of joy and pride to your grandparents and you are only four years old!
So my darling precious daughter, as you turn four today, I pray that the God who brought you to me will bless you abundantly my dear angel especially on this day, that marks your birth, for all the special ways you bring a bit of heaven into our world.
May God bless you, today, tomorrow and always with peace, robust health, great happiness and abundant love.

With over-flowing love,
Mummy
