A section of Machakos county MCAs have come out to defend governor Alfred Mutua after his name was listed on the EACC corruption dozier.In a letter to the media led by the majority leader Joshua Mwonga, the leaders said that the allegations against Mutua are not true asking him not to dare leave his office for investigations.
Security officers manned the town last night following reports that there is a planned demonstrations by a group of leaders led by deputy governor Bernard Kiala to the office of the governor to ask him to step aside, allegations that Kiala has denied.
Another group of MCAs in the assembly are calling on Mutua to step aside following the allegations against him. This comes Senator Mike Sonko's stepped down which the leaders say that governor Mutua is no different as he was elected by the people as Sonko and so he should step aside with immediate effect.
